Starting Fall 2026, menstrual products will now be provided in all academic and administrative building restrooms, as well as lobby and communal restrooms of residence halls. Please be courteous and only take what you need!

Please refrain from using the menstrual product cart for personal use. Thank you for helping us maintain this shared resource!

Beginning in Fall 2026, The Office of Sustainability will be providing laundry detergent sheets at no cost to all students! The goal is to introduce more sustainable hygiene options to students, resulting in water conservation and overall waste reduction. At the beginning of each semester, each student will receive 10 sheets (enough for ten loads of laundry) in a recyclable envelope that can be picked up in your mailbox at the Mail Room. Each student is allowed up to 1 more envelope (2 per semester, total), by request at the Mail Room, while supplies last.

Every dorm kitchen will have a compost bin (pictured) available for students to leave food scraps in, to help divert waste from our landfills. Each bin is managed by a Waste Reduction Intern, with program guidance provided by the Office of Sustainability. Signage is posted as well, detailing acceptable items.

Note: Compost bins will听not be lined! Do not hesitate to drop scraps into bin without a liner/plastic bag.

Bins are emptied and cleaned 3 times per week by Waste Reduction Interns.

Please return all Malott dishes to the dining hall during your next meal! Help us keep reusable dishes at Malott available, and reduce further use of one-use tableware.

Bins are also available in every kitchen to drop dishes for weekly pick-up by Malott Staff. Help us spread the word and encourage our peers to return dishes after use.

Guidelines for Greenware at Scripps:

• The event must take place on 61传媒campus. We are not able to accommodate events off-campus at this time.
• Please submit your request 5 business days in advance of your event to allow enough time for scheduling.
• Compost bins are also available for request!

Used, undamaged household batteries can be dropped in battery towers (pictured below) in the following locations:

• Student Union
• SCORE Office
• Tiernan Field House

Accepted batteries include听Button, AAA, AA, C, D, 9V.听

Do not drop swollen, damaged, wet, or leaking batteries as this creates a safety hazard. Please bag each individual damaged battery and bring them to the Facilities Office, Lang 51, for proper disposal.

Used batteries can also be brought to the Office of Sustainability (Lang 52, basement of Lang, across from IT) and placed in the blue plastic collection tube.

61传媒students, staff, and faculty can get a free for Foothill Transit buses at the Connection in Honnold Library. This pass allows students, faculty, and staff to ride the bus for free all semester long.听

Biking is another great option for getting around the Claremont campuses and city. The has a map of bike lanes/routes.

Don鈥檛 have a bike? Check out our Green Bike program that loans out 60-80 bikes to students for the semester. They also provide bikes for day rentals.
