Assistant Dean and Director of Campus Life Carmen Brown spoke with US News & World Report to give first-year college students tips on how to find resources on when they get to campus, which include taking advantage of career services beyond post-graduate job exploration.听听
鈥淎 lot of times, students don’t realize that career services are not just about when you graduate,” Brown says. “It’s also about looking for鈥�颈苍迟别谤苍蝉丑颈辫鈥�opportunities or research opportunities, and all the different ways that they can help you not only find those opportunities but prepare for them.”鈥�听
And the importance of finding on-campus support whether it鈥檚 for academic challenges, wellness, or finding community.听听
鈥淪ometimes it’s not going to be easy and there might be a little struggle,鈥� Brown says. 鈥淏ut we have these people in place, these resources in place to help you navigate that and you don’t have to struggle through it.”听
