61传媒, a women鈥檚 liberal arts college with a strong interdisciplinary tradition, invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Italian for the 2026-27 academic year, with the possibility of renewal. The appointment will begin on July 1, 2026 and end on June 30, 2027. Preference will be given to candidates with a specialization in foreign language pedagogy and Mediterranean/migration studies. The teaching load is two courses each semester (2/2) plus direction of the Modern Language Resource Center (MLRC). This position combines teaching with coordination of the Language Center鈥檚 activities including hiring, training, and supervising student tutors. Ph.D. and college-level teaching experience equivalent to at least three academic years are required.
Preferred qualifications for a successful candidate include:
- Expertise in Italian language pedagogy
- Demonstrated success teaching at the undergraduate level
- Ability to advance interdisciplinary collaborations in teaching
- Strong organizational, management, and communication skills

The salary for this position is $75,000 and is based on a variety of factors. In light of recent federal updates to visa processing and associated costs, the College is generally not in a position to sponsor visas for faculty appointments.
